Avnet Named to 2015 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100
HOENIX – Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that it has been named to the 2015 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100. The Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 is an annual listing of the top supply chain projects that help organizations move toward supply chain excellence.
Avnet was selected for the innovative implementation of a new warehouse management system (WMS) at its largest distribution center, McKemy. The nearly two-year long initiative to upgrade the WMS at its 404,000 square foot facility in Chandler, Ariz., helps Avnet better manage its customers’ and suppliers’ supply chain growth now and in the future. This marks the fourth time that Avnet has been named to the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100.
“We needed a sophisticated warehouse management system that could keep up with the growing cyclical demands of shipments that we manage every day,” said Bob Brenner, senior vice president, warehousing and distribution, Avnet. “In the short time since the full roll-out of our new WMS, we are already experiencing exceptional results. We’re able to more effectively manage complex solutions on behalf of our dynamic customer base. With a focus on quality, warehouse personnel can better understand our customers’ requirements in real time, resulting in faster and more accurate order processing that helps our customers reduce their time to market.”
