Harris Corp lands $36M Marine Corps radio order
Harris Corp. has received a $36 million order from the U.S. Marine Corps for its Falcon III multi-band networking radios.
The radios provide high-bandwidth communications for streaming video, simultaneous voice and data feeds, and other situational awareness capabilities.
“With the [radios], Marines on the move and their field commanders will have access to critical, real-time information to support the types of contingency operations they anticipate in the future,” said Brendan O’Connell, president of tactical communications for Harris Communication Systems. “This award is another step in helping the Marine Corps expand the application of wideband tactical networking.”
Melbourne-based Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) provides advanced, technology-based solutions for government and commercial customers. The company has $8 billion in annual revenue and about 23,000 employees — including 9,000 engineers and scientists.
