Lenovo snags top global PC slot over HP
Another quarter at the top for Lenovo, the Chinese computer maker that houses a headquarters and its enterprise operation in the Triangle, snagged the top spot again in market share rankings from research firm IDC.
The firm had 19.6 percent market share, compared to its second place rival, HP (NYSE: HPQ), which had 19 percent. Dell, Acer, and ASUS followed with 13.5 percent, 7.1 percent and 7 percent respectively.
CEO Yuanqing Yang said via prepared statement after the report that he was “tremendously proud” of his team.
