Pegatron expects 2Q15 notebook shipments to grow 15-20% sequentially
Pegatron expects its notebook shipments in second-quarter 2015 to increase 15-20% sequentially, according to company CEO Jason Cheng.
However, shipments of communication devices in the second quarter will decrease 30-40% sequentially and those of motherboards and desktops will remain unchanged, Cheng said at a May 7 investors conference.
Pegatron’s business operations of the year will be at the lowest level in the second quarter and consolidated revenues for first-half and second-half 2015 will be at 45:55, Cheng indicated.
First-quarter 2015 consolidated revenues reached NT$274.263 billion (US$8.71 billion), with 63% coming from communication devices, 16% from IT products, 12% from consumer electronics and 9% from other product lines.
Pegatron estimates capital spending in 2015 at US$250-300 million, with about 50% to be on establishing new factories in China.
