Philips Lighting to close NC manufacturing facility
Recently disclosed layoff rounds at two separate companies could impact more than 140 in North Carolina – including at a Vance County plant owned by Philips Lighting.
Both Philips-Optimum and URS disclosed upcoming layoff rounds to the state that will impact 50 in Henderson and 96 in Elizabeth City, respectively.
Philips-Optimum, known as Optimum Lighting before being acquired by Philips in 2011, manufactures energy-efficient fluorescent lighting fixtures. At the time of the acquisition, it had 70 employees.
