Wistron expanding presence in cloud computing industry
Wistron has been aggressively expanding its presence in the cloud computing industry and has cooperated with hospitals in Taiwan to launch telemedical applications in China and will establish 10,000 smart classrooms for education in China in 2015, according to a Chinese-language Apple Daily report.
For the enterprise market, Wistron is mainly focusing on developing private cloud solutions and has also created high-security instant messaging software for enterprises to push bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and mobile office concepts, the report said.
For the medical industry, Wistron has cooperated with Intel to develop devices that can check heart rates, blood sugar and DNA, and has partnered with Taiwan’s large hospitals to develop systems to diagnose patients via Big Data and offer disease prevention services, the report noted.
Wistron is also looking to connect medical devices via Internet of things (IoT) and is currently cooperating with Maya International, the largest medical system integrator in Taiwan, the report added.
