WPG reports record July revenues
WPG, Asia’s largest distributor of semiconductor components, has reported consolidated revenues of NT$42.87 billion US$1.35 billion for July 2015, up 1.9% on month and hitting a record high.
WPG credited the positive results to growing shipments of chip components for mobile phones and car electronics. The IC distributor generated revenues of NT$275.35 billion in the first seven months of 2015, representing growth of 8.2% from a year earlier.WPG’s smaller competitor WT Microelectronics has posted consolidated revenues of NT$9.31 billion for July 2015, down 0.4% sequentially but up 5.7% on year. WT Micro’s cumulative 2015 revenues through the month increased 15.8% from a year ago to NT$66.6 billion.Meanwhile, Answer Technology ANStek, which distributes IC parts mainly from ADI, Xilinx and Avago, saw its July revenues increase 17.7% on month to NT$304 million. Revenues totaled NT$1.97 billion for the first seven months of 2015, rising 5.8% on year.
